Barcelona have finally completed the signing of their star playmaker Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool for a fee of around £146million.
The Brazilian has penned a deal until the summer of 2023 and the release clause in his contract is an eye-watering £354.6m.
Chelsea host Barcelona in the middle of February when the Champions League resumes, and Ernesto Valverde’s side will have to do without Coutinho as he is ineligible for the match since he has already played in the Champions League for Liverpool this season.
Also, Coutinho who has always been a danger when facing Chelsea won’t also be available for Liverpool when Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge at the start of May.
