Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea during the summer transfer window and started his Chelsea career with a bang as he scored on his debut and also got six goals in his first seven Premier League games for the Blues.

It’s been a disappointing 2018 so far for the Spaniard who’s yet to get a goal, but Morata has insisted that he’s willing to give his all after returning from a back injury that kept him out for a month.

Chelsea fans got infuriated with Morata after his poor finishing against Arsenal cost the team earlier in January, and Morata has finally opened up that he was playing through pain all the while.

“He is the one who bets on me and that’s the truth,” Morata told Movistar about Antonio Conte.

He continued: “Chelsea is a big club, a club that has given me the opportunity to play as a starter, to grow even more.

“It’s a team where I’m very happy, where I started well until I had some physical problems.

“I made a mistake in that respect as I played with pain [earlier this season]. I went through a poor spell where I missed important goals but I wasn’t well physically and mentally.

“I have to grit my teeth and do all that I can to return. We have the Champions League tie [against Barcelona].”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
