Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has criticised Brendan Rodgers over his handling of Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda.
In the January transfer window, the Belgian youngster joined Celtic on loan until the end of next season, and his career with Celtic started on a high as he churned out some good performances and wowed the Celtic fans with his skills.
However, Rodgers have been leaving Musonda out of the starting eleven in recent games, something Sutton isn’t happy about.
“Performances in Europe haven’t been good enough this season. They have gone backwards,” he told BT Sport.
“I think that Brendan is a top coach but I think some of the recruitment hasn’t been good enough.
“Charly Musonda was the big marquee signing, they spent big wages on him and for Brendan to discard him after just a few games, I don’t get it. It’s big business for Celtic and I think there’s a lot of fans scratching their heads.
“I think for Celtic to move on a level and to keep Brendan at the club, they need a big summer.”
