Willian was on fire against Hull City as he deservedly won the man of the match, scoring two goals and impressing throughout with the intelligence of his attacking play.
Willian could easily have gotten a hatrick in the game but missed a chance late in the game when his low drive struck the base of the woodwork.
He said: “It was almost there, I tried to score one more goal but the most important thing was the win. I was unlucky but I hope there are more goals to come in the next match.’
Willian also explained his role in Hull City’s penalty miss as he revealed what he said to Hull’s David Meyler as he prepared to take a penalty which was saved by Willy Cabellero early in the second half.
“I said to him: ‘You’re going to miss,’ Willian laughed.
“I said: ‘Don’t shoot in the middle because Willy won’t move, he stays,’ and then when he missed I said: ‘I told you.'”
