Chelsea will be away to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening for a vital Premier League clash.

Two of Pep Guardiola’s key men Fernandinho and Raheem Sterling are currently injured and may be unavailable for their outstanding league game against Arsenal on Thursday, but the City manager is hoping they come back for the Chelsea game on Sunday.

Fernandinho who has featured in all 27 of City’s league fixtures this season suffered a hamstring strain in Sunday’s Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal, while Sterling, who has scored 20 goals this season, missed the Wembley showdown due to injury.

Guardiola said of the duo: “Raheem is much, much better.

“I don’t know if he can play tomorrow but hopefully he will be ready for Chelsea [Sunday] or Basel [next Wednesday].

“Fernandinho tomorrow is out.”
