Chelsea host West Brom tonight at Stamford Bridge, and the game is an important one for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte whose job seems to be hanging on a thread.
While many think Chelsea are in crisis following the heavy defeats to Bournemouth and Watford, BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson doesn’t think so and has backed the Blues to win this game.
“The Blues had a bad defeat at Watford [last] Monday, which means people are talking about them being in crisis,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“But I think that is a bit of an exaggeration, and I would certainly back them to win this game.
“I wouldn’t panic over West Brom at the moment either, even though they are four points from safety and could be further adrift by the time this game is played.
“The big thing about the Baggies is that they look more likely to score a goal than many of the other sides down at the bottom of the table.
“When push comes to shove, I do think Alan Pardew’s side will start to pick up points – especially when they play against some of the lower teams, who will give them more chances.”
