There has been an uncertainty around Antonio Conte’s job as Chelsea manager since the Italian was humiliated by Watford 4-1 at the Vicarage Road on Monday night.
Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has been linked with the Chelsea job, although reports claim he’d only join the Blues at the end of the season.
According to the Telegraph, that has not stopped the 47-year-old from ‘preparing’ himself for a move to England.
Also, reports in Spain have suggested that the former Roma manager has also drawn up a list of transfer targets and has made former charge Luis Suarez his first priority if he joins Chelsea.
Enrique is said to be keen on trying his hand in the Premier League and would relish the challenge of going up against old teammate Pep Guardiola, as well as former foe, Jose Mourinho.
Enrique and Maurizio Sarri are being linked with the Chelsea job at the end of the season as Conte’s position at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain. It is believed that Conte has been given a lifeline to turn things around or face the sack, which has now made the game against West Brom a must win for Chelsea.
If Enrique moves to the Bridge, he’d love to be reunited with his former Barca staff, though his old assistants, fitness coach and psychologist are currently at Celta and would not move until the summer.
