West Brom might be 20th on the league table, but Chelsea’s form of late has given the Baggies a glimmer of hope as they prepare to visit Stamford Bridge on Monday.
Chelsea host the Baggies in Matchweek 27 at Stamford on Monday night, and after two back to back heavy defeats to Bouremouth and Watford, veteran midfielder Gareth Barry thinks that there couldn’t be a better time to play the Blues.
He said of the Chelsea trip: “We’ve got to look at it as a good time to play them.
“They’re coming off the back of two disappointing results and confidence may be a bit lower than normal. We’ve got to go there, try and frustrate them and make it an even tougher time for them.
“People will be looking [at the Baggies’ position] and saying, ‘We’re really up against it’, but it will take one result. There’s no better place to try and go and lift the confidence than Stamford Bridge. We realise that and if we do work hard then there’s no reason we can’t do that.”
