UEFA has dropped investigation into complaints of racist chanting by Atalanta fans made by Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi has made his displeasure clear at UEFA’s decision to end the investigation by tweeting sarcastically that that the alleged monkey chants must have been his ‘imagination’ before suggesting UEFA did not take his allegations seriously.
Batshuayi tweeted: “LOL. Must be my imagination.”
And then: “It’s just monkey noise who cares? 2018 guys…”
UEFA charged Atlanta with racism after racists chants were allegedly directed at Batshuayi during a Europa League game between Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta but European soccer’s governing body announced on Thursday it decided ‘to close the disciplinary proceedings opened for racist or discriminatory behaviour.’
