Chelsea players have scored some spectacular goals against Tottenham down the years, and in recent times, Eden Hazard’s stunner in the Battle of the Bridge and a superb volley from Pedro last season are just a few to mention.
The official Chelsea website spoke with former Blues player Juliano Belletti who scored a 30-yard stunner in 2008, and he spoke about his goal ahead of this weekend’s clash between the two London rivals.
“In the all years since, the Chelsea supporters remember that goal,” Belletti smiled as he told the official Chelsea website.
“It’s good to have a moment when I made the Chelsea supporters so happy with one goal, and the intensity of my play.
“I scored another goal against Tottenham which I remember as well,’ he adds. That came in a 1-1 draw at the beginning of the following season.
“That was a totally different kind of goal! In that match I played as a midfielder. I changed position and that was my first match there. It was the Makelele position! I really enjoyed that position, and if I could help the team I was happy with that.”
From that day on, Chelsea supporters shouted ‘shoooooot!’ whenever he had the ball, even incorporating the word into his chant.
