Jose Mourinho had a nightmarish end to his Chelsea career as the club sacked him midway through 2015/16 campaign with Chelsea languishing in 16th position.
Mourinho was sacked and Guus Hiddink was brought to steady the ship as Chelsea eventually ended the season in 10th position.
Antonio Conte came the following season and won the Premier League in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, with Jose Mourinho in charge of Manchester United.
While Mourinho had success in his first season at United, winning the League Cup and Europa League, Blues legend Dennis Wise believes the one heralded as the special one in Stamford Bridge was hurt to see Conte taking his shine at the place he once called home.
Wise, speaking on Sky Sports, believes that watching Conte win the league with his players would have hurt Mourinho.
“Conte won the league with the group of players that Mourinho had.
“He changed the system. He gave Chelsea something different that Mourinho hadn’t given.
“That hurt Mourinho. He loved Chelsea.”
