Chelsea trio Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian and Andreas Christensen were substituted during Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Liecester on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte explained why he substituted the trio.

“Baka got a yellow card, and we are talking about a player with great physicality. In a game like this, you have to prevent a second yellow card. For this reason, I decided to change him,” Conte said.

“Willian was very tired. Willi played a fantastic game with and without the ball, and he is in fantastic physical condition. It was the same [tiredness] for Christensen after the Barcelona game when we spent a lot of energy.”
