Antonio Conte led Chelsea to a Premier League title win last season, as the Blues defied the odds to win the league in style.
Conte has hailed the work the team did last season as he also feels that inexperience killed the team against Barcelona and many of our players have to be given time to produce their best in a Blues shirt. The Chelsea boss also insists that this squad will improve given time.
“I think that last season we did a fantastic job,” he said. “Every player performed at 120 per cent. Also, if you remember, we lost a lot of old players that created a basis for Chelsea for a long time.
“Now we are trying to build a fundamental basis for this club and for this reason you have a lot of young players. You lack experience when you play a game against a team like Barcelona, because many players are playing for the first time in this competition, and they need to have more time to improve their experience to play at this level.”
