Chelsea needed to win or at least get a draw in the game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, but all the Blues could get was a 1-0 defeat.
Chelsea were subdued in the game, and the game was lost before the start of the match as Chelsea sat very deep and were lined up without a striker.
From BT Sport to Sky Sports, pundits all over the world have criticised Conte for his tactics, but the Chelsea boss had a response for them after the game.
He said after the game: “At this moment you have to accept criticism but I’m not so stupid to play open against Man City and lose 3-0 or 4-0.
“If I remember well, a few days ago Arsenal played twice against them and you [the media] criticised [Arsene] Wenger because they conceded three goals in 20 minutes.
“Pundits need to use their heads and understand when you speak about tactics you must have knowledge, not just speak in a stupid way.”
