Chelsea’s 4-1 aggregate defeat to Barcelona was just all about Lionel Messi. Messi scored the equaliser at Stamford Bridge to put the tie in Barca’s favour and also scored a brace as well as assist Ousmane Dembele for his goal as the Blaugrana defeated Chelsea 3-0.
The Argentine was involved in all four of Barca’s goals, and Chelsea boss was seen talking to him just after the game.
The Italian admitted that he only went to praise the man who many see as the best footballer to have ever played the game.
“When you have the opportunity to make a great complement to Messi, it is right to recognise a super, super, super top player,” Conte said.
“You are talking about a player who every season can score 60 goals, not just in one season. I am very pleased to have the opportunity at the end of the game to give him my complement. We are talking about an extraordinary player, the best in the world.”
