Chelsea need to get a win by all means in Sunday’s game against Manchester City.
On another day, a draw with City at the Etihad Stadium might be a good result, but with Chelsea currently outside the top four at the moment, anything less than victory for the remainder of the season is a bad result, no matter the side we are up against.
And Antonio Conte echoed that sentiment in his press conference today as he admitted that a Chelsea win against Pep Guardiola’s men will be good for our top four fight.
Conte told the media: “For us, now in this moment, we have to try to get a place in the Champions League.
“It won’t be easy because there are many teams very strong, and we must be ready to fight. And try to take a place and get a place for next season in the Champions League.”
When asked about Chelsea’s ambition, Conte responded: “I don’t know. It’s not a question for me. About ambition, this is not a question for me. A club has to show ambition, not the coach. The coach has to work very hard every day. The club has to show ‘ambition’.”
