Gareth Bale could be sold at the end of the season after a frustrating couple of years at Real Madrid in which his development has been curtailed by a persistent calf injury.
ESPN pundit Paul Marriner thinks a move to Chelsea is more likely for Bale and he believes it could spark a swap deal with Hazard.
When asked about Bale’s chances of joining United, Marriner told ESPN: “I can’t see it. I really can’t.
“If Gareth [Bale] leaves Real Madrid, then I think something could happen with Chelsea and Eden [Hazard].
“A deal might happen there. We’re hearing things about Bayern Munich and he might be involved in that deal with Robert Lewandowski.
“Maybe Harry Kane even – we know about the wage structure at Tottenham isn’t anywhere near the level of Real Madrid and I think Kane and Real Madrid might come into play.”
