Chelsea currently sit fifth in the Premier League table with just eight games left of the season.
The Blues are fifth on the table and are at risk of not qualifying for the Champions League next season if they don’t close the five-point gap to fourth-placed Spurs come May.
Sky Sports pundit Gerry Francis believes Chelsea need Alvaro Morata to find form in the closing stages if they want to break into the top four.
“It’s going to be very tough for Chelsea I think but I don’t think it’s impossible,” Francis told Sky Sports.
“Funnier things have happened in football.
“I think they’ll give it a good go but it depends on Morata I think.
“I think Chelsea haven’t replaced Diego Costa this year at all and Eden Hazard used to have a great understanding with him playing the hole just behind him, little flicks road the corner.
“They haven’t replaced him and in the last third at times Chelsea have a lot of the ball and a lot of opportunities but don’t stick the ball in the net.
“Morata is really important, he’s mobile.
“He has the ability in the air as well but I think it’s important for Hazard as well to have somebody he can play off of in that role and so really he’s got to come onto form is Chelsea are going to get into that top four.”
