There was a time when all we had as a team, in terms of players that we could rely on was Eden Hazard. And Without his touch of class and excellence, we would struggle and suffer, but today, the story is different. We have another player rising to the occasion when called on, and providing us with near the same level of excellence.

Willian has been a revelation this season. He has unraveled, and it is quite amazing. Not that it is at all surprising – this was the same reason he was acquired from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013. He has always been a gifted young man, the only problem was finding some consistency to his displays. Hazard has had that more than any other player in the EPL, but Willian too is getting there.

In all of Willian’s appearances thus far in 2017/18, he has netted 13 times; his best yet in a blue shirt. His assist tally of 6 so far is also very impressive, especially seeing that they’re all from one competition (6 in the EPL).

He turns 30 this year, but that doesn’t change a thing about him. If he can keep this form toward the end of the season, Chelsea will be looking at getting a new contract for the Brazilian playmaker. And I think that he deserves it. He has worked so hard this season, and has to be appreciated.

Willian has justified his decision to come to Stamford Bridge ahead of White Hart Lane. He has flourished, and been so much better and his value as a player has skyrocketed as well.

King Jay is a writer/broadcaster with years of experience under his belt. His love affair with Chelsea actually began as a joke, but today, he stands tall as a die-hard blue. What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
