Chelsea were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona.
The Blues then bounced back from that defeat with a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
And former Blues star Gianfranco Zola believes Chelsea showed their potential against Barca but admits Conte’s side are struggling for goals this season and believes it’s the major cause of Chelsea’s struggles.
“I don’t think Chelsea are far off,” he told BBC Sport.
“Yes they are far from the league leaders and they have been knocked out of the Champions League, but they showed they are alive with the performance against Barcelona.
“One thing I would say is they cannot score as frequently as they could last season, and they are paying the toll for this.”
