Manchester United and Chelsea have an FA Cup final clash set for May 19th at the Wembley Stadium, and both clubs will use the opportunity to remember Ray Wilkins who both featured for the two clubs.
Wilkins passed on earlier this month at the age of 61, after the former England captain and popular TV pundit had suffered a heart attack.
Wilkins wore the No 8 shirt for both clubs and supporters will sing “There’s only one Ray Wilkins” in the eighth minute of the Final.
Before the match at Wembley both clubs are also planning a series of tributes.
Tim Rolls from the Chelsea Supporters Trust said: Ray Wilkins was an inspiring player and captain for Chelsea, taking the role at the unbelievably young age of eighteen.
“Given he also starred for Manchester United, after Chelsea were forced to sell him for financial reasons, a joint tribute at the FA Cup Final seems a great idea and entirely fitting.”
Wilkins has been hailed by many for being a nice man, and tributes from all over the world poured in after his death.
