Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has congratulated Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for breaking his Premier League scoring record for an African player.
Drogba previously held the record for the African with the highest goal in a Premier League season after scoring 29 goals in the 2009/10 season.
Salah scored in his 30th Premier League goal of the season in Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth last weekend, surpassing Drogba’s record of 29 goals.
Drogba and Salah were teammates at Chelsea during Drogba’s second spell at Stamford Bridge.
“It was just a matter of days before this guy put my goal record as number one African top scorer to bed,” Drogba wrote.
“So proud of you lil bro, continue to put our continent as high as you can!!! Much love and blessings, like I said before the best is yet to come.”
