Barcelona U19 condemned Chelsea Under-19s to defeat in the UEFA Youth League final as Barcelona ran out 3-0 winners in Nyon.

A brace from Alejandro Marques and a third from Abel Ruiz inflicted a harsh 3-0 scoreline on Joe Edwards Chelsea youngsters.

The Blues failed to cope with extreme pressure down their left side when and it told with the opener as Ruiz capped a nice run with a chipped cross for Marques to head home from close range.

The lead was doubled when Marc Guehi conceded possession on the edge of his own area trying to play out from the back under pressure from Marques, with the Venezuelan pouncing to coolly slot home.

Abel Ruiz added a third in stoppage time to add some gloss to the score line, which proved a harsh one for Joe Edwards’ side.

It wasn’t all Barcelona, as Callum Hudson-Odoi added a spark to the Blues in search of a route back into the game after Marques’ strike, with George McEachran also impressing as Edwards switched to a back four.

Luke McCormick wasted a glorious chance, while Charlie Brown couldn’t connect properly with a Hudson-Odoi inswinging cross to hit the bar.
