Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 at Anfield on Wednesday, in a quarter-final Champions League clash.
Liverpool have now beaten City on two occasions this season, while Chelsea lost 1-0 to Pep Guardiola’s side both home and away.
In Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad in March, Chelsea failed to register a shot on target and were heavily criticised for the performance against City.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is adamant he doesn’t possess the squad to deliver a similar performance to Liverpool’s in their Champions League win over Manchester City.
“I think you can beat the opponent in different ways, not only one way to beat an opponent,” said Conte.
“For sure, before you play a game against this type of opponent you must understand which are the characteristics of your players.
“If you have players with good press, good to run for 90 minutes, it’s right to bring high intensity from the start of the season to press.
“If you don’t have these types of players, difficulty to press, difficulty to play without football, you have to go in another way to try to beat them.”
