Chelsea boss Antonio Conte cut a frustrated figure in the game against Southampton before the Blues comeback.
Chelsea have been in terrible form since the beginning of the year, and the Blues appeared to be heading to a tenth league defeat of the season on Saturday after Jan Bednarek followed up Duaan Tadic’s first-half opener at St Mary’s.
During the interval, Conte took up his position in the dugout before his players had even come out for the second half and former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise felt this was further prove that he’s ‘waiting’ to be sacked.
“Look at his persona, the way he comes across he looks like the season is done and they haven’t done what they’re supposed to do,” Wise said.
“From a Chelsea person it is sad to see that – I want to see a big smile on his face.
“It seems like he is waiting for the moment [he’s sacked].
“He keeps saying ‘I’m trying my best… this is the situation, we try for the fans’ but it’s the same tone.
“It’s the same downness – the disappointing thing is it seems like he’s waiting [to be sacked].”
