Chelsea lost the opening game of the season to Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

It was a difficult game for Chelsea who had just won the title the previous season, and a red card to Gary Cahill gave the game to Burnley who went three goals up.

Chelsea were revived in the second-half, but the Blues could only score twice.

As the two teams meet again today, Antonio Conte has looked back at that game.

“I remember very well that game,” says Conte. “After about 15 minutes there was a red card for Gary Cahill and we started this game with a player [Jeremie Boga] who we then sent on loan in the Championship.

“We went 3-0 down and we were able to come back to 3-2. It was a strange game. I think they [Burnley] deserved to win and for sure this game was very important to improve their confidence, but they showed during the season that to play against Burnley is very tough.”
