Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has revealed he wants to return to Chelsea in the future and become part of the club’s coaching staff.

Cole, who currently plays for United Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies, was a fan’s favourite at Stamford Bridge had a successful spell for the Blues between 2003 and 2010.

The 36-year-old is close to completing his Uefa A licence and is keen on returning back to help his beloved club.

Cole said: “One day I would like to be part of the coaching staff, in what capacity I don’t know. But when you’re part of a club like this, you don’t want to let it go. Hopefully it will be a lifetime relationship.”

The former Blue also backed Chelsea to bounce back next season.

He said: “You have to say that Manchester City have had a great season, but you come back and go get them next year. I think Chelsea can still win a trophy this year.”
