Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer and was given a difficult task of replacing Diego Costa.
He started well, scoring seven goals in his first eight appearances in all competitions, but has since struggled.
The Spaniard has had a 2018 to forget so far, and seems to have lost his place to January signing Olivier Giroud.
However, Blues legend Frank Lampard believes Morata has the abilities to come good next season.
“For Morata I do feel for him a bit,” Lampard said of Morata on BT Sport.
“He certainly has found elements of the Premier League difficult.
“As a player when you look at him he has got some really good attributes as a frontman.
“He wants to attack the lines, he wants to get in behind, he can finish.
“We saw him get angry in the week against Burnley when he got subbed and I want to see that on the pitch.
“He’s big physically, when you stand next to him I was surprised exactly how big he is as a man and I think he’s got all those attributes.
“It might be one for him to go away in the summer and come back and work really, really hard next year and go for it and go ‘here I am, I can be at this club and be the main No 9.”
