Manchester United are plotting a move for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand, according to reports.
The 28-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester City last summer but the Premier League leaders have since cooled their interest, having strengthened that position.
Other Premier League clubs such as Tottenham, Newcastle United and Everton are also keen on Bertrand, and according to The Sun, the left-back is likely to request a transfer at the end of the season.
Bertrand who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, came through the ranks at Chelsea, and if he moves to United, he could join a growing list of former Chelsea players who weren’t given a chance at Chelsea but are starring in other big clubs.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of Bertrand, and he could have been the next best thing at Chelsea’s left-back spot after Ashley Cole.
