David Luiz watched on as his teammates fell to a 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in a result that has left them eight points behind Spurs in the race to seal a top four spot in the Premier League this season.
With seven league games left in the campaign, the Blues are in need of consistency and luck to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Luiz has been forced to watch games from the sidelines with knee and ankle injuries keeping him out of action. In fact, his last appearance for the Blues was in the 4-1 defeat against Watford at the start of February.
The 30-year-old took to social media and uploaded a clip of him in the gym as he closes in on a return to full fitness. He captioned the clip: “Never give up.”
