Michy Batshuayi struggled again in his second season at Chelsea and was shipped off to German club Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the season.

The Belgian has been impressive at Dortmund, scoring nine goals in his opening 14 games, but now an ankle ligament damage looks to have cut short his season.

Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed in February that the club are keen on signing Batshuayi on a permanent deal, and this remains the case despite the striker’s injury.

According to The Evening Standard, Chelsea are demanding a fee of at least £50million for the Belgium international.

With Antonio Conte likely to leave Chelsea in the summer, Batshuayi’s future may depend on who comes in to replace the Italian.

Batshuayi has also refused to reveal much about his future at Chelsea and wants to wait until the end of the season.
