David Luiz’s season at Chelsea hasn’t gone as he would have liked with injuries hampering his game time as well as having fallen out of favour with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Luiz and Conte was said to have fallen out after Chelsea’s Champions League group stage clash with Roma and Conte opted to drop him behind Andreas Christensen in the pecking order.
A knee injury has halted him from fighting for his place as well, and he is yet to fully recover from the injury.
Reports claim the Brazilian is determined to leave if Antonio Conte stays at the club, with Monaco hoping to land the 31-year-old.
Former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo, who now works at Monaco. is keen to pursue a move for Luiz should he become available.
Chelsea’s stance on the Brazilian remains unclear, with Luiz still a hugely popular figure in the dressing room and among board members, and it will be largely dependent on Conte’s own future.
