Roman Abramovich has been told to give the Chelsea managerial job to academy boss and former Chelsea player Jody Morris.
Former Chelsea player Frank Sinclair, who broke through at Chelsea from the youth set-up in 1991 and went on to make 200 appearances for the club, believes appointing Morris as Chelsea boss will help promote youngsters to the first-team and save the club a lot of money as well.
“It would be a great opportunity right now to go for the likes of a Jody Morris, who has been unbelievably successful in these last two seasons,” Sinclair told LOVE SPORT Radio via Daily Express.
“Let him have the remit of bringing these youngsters through to the first team along with the team that he has at the moment. Give them an opportunity.
“It might take 18 months before you get the success back at the club but at least you’ve got stability and you’ve got young players coming through which will save you a lot of money as well.”
