With the season gradually reaching its finale, the next agenda on the list will be the summer transfer window and then the World Cup in Russia. For Chelsea, it’s really going to be an interesting summer. With speculations rife about Antonio Conte’s imminent exit from the club, all eyes will be looking if truly the Italian will join the bandwagon of sacked managers in Chelsea’s Roman Abramovich era or he’ll still be in charge of the team. If the former is the case, then who replaces him will be a big puzzle for the club to solve. Another conundrum will be the futures of Chelsea’s Belgium stars: Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois. Whether they stay or leave will be crucial to the club’s plans and future.

On another horizon, a more crucial matter will be the future of workhorse midfielder, N’Golo Kante. He has been one of the club’s consistent performers since moving from Leicester City to Chelsea two summers ago.

With reports of PSG’s interest in him, Chelsea must do well to resist their overtures for the French midfield dynamo. Backed by Qatari Investments, the French club are ready to go to any length to get what they want by offering irresistible transfer fees just like it happened with the Neymar deal last summer.

An interview byPSG star player, Kylian Mbappe is a proof to what is to come in the summer:

“Kante, in terms of our needs and also the quality of the player,” Mbappe said when asked which player he would like to see join the club.

“I think he’s a player who’d suit our team perfectly. He’s French, and bringing a Frenchman back would be good as far as the attractiveness of our league is concerned. I think all the French love N’Golo Kante, and it would be a pleasure to see him again in our league.”

Quite revealing from the young French forward and Chelsea must do well to read in between lines. Though Kante allayed fears two months ago by assuring the club of his desire to stay at Chelsea:

“I am at home. It is my club, I am a Chelsea player,” Kante told Football Focus, via the London Evening Standard.

With PSG circling around the player like a cock displaying beautiful feathers around a hen to woo her for copulation, Chelsea must do their best to keep the midfielder for a long stay at the club.

Let’s hope for the best. Cheers!
