Chelsea U18 beat Arsenal U18 7-1 on aggregate to win their fifth consecutive Youth Cup Final, and the victory has equalled a record set by Manchester United under Sir Matt Busby in the 1950s.
The Blues entered the second leg with a 3-1 advantage against Arsenal from last week’s first leg at Stamford Bridge and they beat the Gunners 4-0 at the Emirates on Monday night to end the season as FA Youth Cup winners.
The win means the Chelsea youth have now won five FA Youth Cup titles in a row and seven of the last nine. Manchester United won the inaugural competition when it begun in 1952 and added another four to their collection in the next four seasons.
Manchester United set that record under Sir Matt Busby in the 1950s, and the Blues could beat the record next season if they end up as champions again.
