There have been speculations regarding the future of Willian at Stamford Bridge for a while, and with each passing season, they appear to get stronger.

The Brazilian has been terrific for us since arriving in 2014, however, he has also featured inconsistently for us, and that is mostly due to the high competition for places at Stamford Bridge.

We have Hazard who is a regular starter because of what he contributes to the team, and other players like Pedro who can also play in the same position. Willian’s inconsistent form means he doesn’t feature regularly, and that has somewhat caused him to consider offers.

As of now, the man has not confirmed he’s going to leave Chelsea, but there does appear to be a rumoured interest in joining Jose Mourinho at Manchester United during the summer. The Brazil international seems to have a good bond with our former coach, and he wasn’t shy to show it during our FA Cup final game against the Red Devils.

If Willian leaves, he will be missed, because of the memories we have created together, coupled with the classic goals he has scored, but then, I don’t think he’s going to be as hard to replace as Hazard, for example. There are a number of decent wingers out there who will be willing to come to the Bridge, if they get the chance.

I am not suggesting we discard Willian randomly, but if it gets to the point where he seems very eager to leave, the club shouldn’t hesitate to grant his desire because I don’t see him as a potentially huge loss. The club should only make sure they put plans in motion to replace every departing player with an even better alternative. That is the only way things keep looking up.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
