Spain boss Julen Lopetegui has revealed his World Cup squad for next month’s fiesta in Russia, and the Spaniard has failed to name three Chelsea players in his squad for the World Cup.
Cesar Azpilicueta is the only Chelsea player from our Spanish contingent that made the squad.
See the Spain 23 man World Cup squad below:
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Arrizabalaga, Pepe Reina
Defenders: Pique, Ramos, Azpilicueta, Nacho, Odriozola, Alba, Carvajal, Monreal
Midfielders: Busquets, Iniesta, Isco, Saul, David Silva, Thiago, Koke, Asensio
Forwards: Vazquez, Aspas, Rodrigo, Costa.
In place of Morata, Lopetegui opted for Valencia striker Rodrigo, and this has caused uproar among Chelsea fans.
Morata played a key role in Spain’s World Cup qualifying campaign as he was Spain’s joint top scorer in World Cup qualifying with five goals, alongside Diego Costa, Isco and David Silva.
