Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte haven’t had the best of relationship since Conte replaced him in the managerial seat at Stamford Bridge.

The pair have clashed on the touchline and in press conferences over the past two years, but there has been some calm in recent times.

The war of words between the two appears to have eased on the eve of Saturday’s FA Cup final, and Mourinho was quizzed about his relationship with the Italian by Portuguese newspaper Record.

He told the Record: “It’s okay, it’s okay.

“He stretched, I stretched, we got upset.

“After the game here in Manchester, I invited him to come to my office. We talked, nothing’s wrong.”

Mourinho also joked he’s no longer ‘The Special One’ and is now ‘The Mature One’.

He added: “If any of the young Portuguese coaches did half of what I did, I give them the authorisation to be considered the new ‘special one’.

“I was joking with the English press that this year I should have won the coach’s prize with the best behaviour on the bench, I did not have a fine, a suspension.”
