Chelsea produced a solid display to beat Manchester United 1-0 at the Wembley Stadium and end the season as FA Cup champions.
Eden Hazard won and converted the penalty that sealed the victory for the Blues, and Antonio Conte’s men produced an astute defensive display to prevent United from scoring.
Jose Mourinho has slammed Conte’s tactics and insists he would be criticised if he employed such tactics.
He said: “I’m quite curious to know what you say, what people write, because I can imagine what happens if my team plays like Chelsea. I’m curious.
“But the players did as well as they could. It was hard to play without [Romelu] Lukaku with a team who defends with nine players – we needed his presence, we did everything, tried everything.
“It hurts but I go home feeling we did everything.”
“This is the way they normally play,” Mourinho continued.
“Today especially after 1-0 they were really, really defensive. We didn’t have a presence without Lukaku and Fellaini.
“They knew they were going to be dominant, we tried everything but they were a huge block.
“The image of the game is David De Gea not touching the ball. But the team that score one more goal wins.”
Mourinho should shot up because he taught us how to defend (park the BUS)
Its a shame for a coach like mourinho to speak like this, which coach would not employ any tactic that will see his team through a competion of this nature? He is worse of when it come defensive tactics like this. He should clear off with his cupless season
Father of excuses, oga better swallow your defeat and stop complaining, in terms of defensive football, conte is a learner to you.
