Manchester City lifted the trophy at the Etihad following a 0-0 draw with Huddersfield and the club are 17 points clear of nearest challengers Manchester United.

City will be overwhelming favourites to win the title again next term but Guardiola says Chelsea’s season has taught him something about England.

The Man City boss used Chelsea as a point for reference, pointing out that anything can happen in England as Chelsea won the league convincingly last season but have struggled this term.

“I think here [in England] it is more difficult but I think that the most important thing is to prepare well then after we will see our level,” said Guardiola.

“Definitely we saw with what happened in the last period the team who won – the next season they didn’t qualify for the Champions League.

“Making back to back in this league is tough but we accept the challenge.”

  1. Guardiola sensibly mocking on Chelsea, that is what is good for Chelsea to learn from their mistake. When you win a trophy you should drink a cup of water to celebrate it not a drum of water

Guardiola is very brave, learning from Chelsea’s failure. Conte is a confused man
