Chelsea might be in the market for a new striker this summer, if Maurizio Sarri is eventually named as the new Blues boss.
And a report from Italy is claiming that the Blues might won’t mind swapping Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain with Alvaro Morata.
Morata has struggled in his first season in England, and it’s unclear if Chelsea will give him another chance. With Juve interested in signing back the Spaniard, Chelsea will try a swap deal for Higuain, but the report by Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com claims the Bianconeri don’t want to let go of their striker.
However, if Juventus were to receive a good offer, then they would certainly evaluate the proposal, Calciomercato report. The Argentine is the highest paid player at Juventus with €7.5m per season, and he’s ageing and will be 31 in December. Therefore, if an offer of around €55m was to arrive, then the Turin side could decide to let go of their striker.
Furthermore, the arrival of Sarri at Chelsea could be the man to really spark negotiations between Napoli and the London side. The former Napoli coach wants a striker that he knows, and, Higuain is on his wish list.
