Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has had an incredible season on loan with PSV, having made 32 appearances, scored 16 goals and had 5 assists.
Van Ginkel is now at the prime of his career at age 25, and having spent four seasons out on loan, the Dutch international could be seeking for a more permanent deal at this stage of his career.
The 25-year-old has made tremendous improvements so far, and many clubs are interested in grabbing the Chelsea man this summer.
PSV Eindhoven are understandably keen to have him on a permanent basis. But it’s not just the Dutch champions who want him, according to Eddie Newton – a coaching staff in charge of Chelsea loanee development.
He told VI.NL: “That is of course between us and the player. But it is clear that Marco has been in the spotlight and that there are several clubs that are interested in him.”
Newton also said of Van Ginkel: “Marco has a very good season at PSV, we are very satisfied with him. There are not many loan players who can say that they are captains at their club. That Marco is, says enough about his qualities. He has done everything this season that we have asked of him. Marco has become an even more complete football player and has fulfilled his potential time after time.”
