Three Chelsea players were involved as France warmed up for the World Cup with a 3-1 win over Italy in Paris.
Olivier Giroud and N’Golo Kante teamed up against Davide Zappacosta in this international friendly.
Kante started for the hosts as goals from Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti secured the victory for Didier Deschamps’ side, who were by far the better team.
Kante was deployed in a three-man midfield alongside Paul Pogba and Corentin Tolisso and performed well, using the ball intelligently.
Giroud, who scored France’s opening goal in their win over Republic of Ireland earlier this week, was introduced for the final 13 minutes when he replaced Antoine Griezmann, while Davide Zappacosta played the final couple of minutes for Italy after also coming off the bench.
