After many months of being at loggerheads, stubborn Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has finally agreed to let Maurizio Sarri to join Chelsea.

De Laurentiis has been in demand of an £8m fee to release Sarri from his contract. But now Sport Italia claim a breakthrough has been found and an announcement could be imminent after Chelsea agreed to a rather unusual clause.

De Laurentiis is concerned about the prospect of Sarri signing many of Napoli’s best players, with the likes of Elseid Hysaj, Raul Abiol and Piotr Zielinski all linked with a move to Chelsea and they all have relatively modest release clauses in their contract.

Napoli have asked Chelsea to enter into a gentleman’s agreement that they will not sign any of those players or centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, who does not have a release clause.
