David Luiz has made almost 200 appearances for Chelsea over two stints at Stamford Bridge but the Brazilian had to endure a frustrating campaign during the concluded season.
The 31-year-old lost his place in the Chelsea team after Chelsea were thrashed 3-0 by Roma in the Champions League as Antonio Conte opted for Andreas Christensen in his stead afterwards.
Luiz then struggled with persistent injury problems after Christmas and featured in just five matches for Chelsea in 2018.
Reports claim the Brazilian who is a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge, could be used in a swap deal to bring Elseid Hysaj to Chelsea.
Reports now claim that Luiz has also emerged as a surprise target for London rivals Arsenal.
According to Le10 Sport, the Gunners submitted an official offer for the Brazilian but saw their £17.6m approach rejected.
