Reports on Friday claimed that Chelsea have rejected an offer of £50m from Barcelona for Willian. The Chelsea winger was one of the sparks in the team when Chelsea and Barca met in the second round of the Champions League, which has probably sparked an interest in the Chelsea man.
Willian, 29, cut an increasingly frustrated figure at Stamford Bridge last season having been on the bench a number of times last season despite his form, and it is believed he has a strained relationship with manager Antonio Conte.
While Conte is set to leave the club – with Maurizio Sarri poised to take over – Willian is still being strongly linked with a departure during the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been interested in the Brazilian since Jose Mourinho was appointed the manager of the club, and after rejecting Barcelona’s offer for Willian, Chelsea are as well bracing themselves to reject a Manchester United approach for the 29-year-old.
