Willian has been attracting interest from Manchester United, and now reports claim Chelsea have rejected an opening £50million bid from Barcelona for the Brazilian.
According to the Daily Mail, Barça made the offer after speaking with the player’s agent with the objective of moving things along quickly as the La Liga champions look to strengthen in wide areas.
Willian, who has started all three of his nation’s matches at the World Cup in Russia, made 55 appearances in all competitions last season but fell out with Antonio Conte towards the back end of a difficult campaign.
Speaking about his relationship with the Italian, Willian said last month: “I was happy with my performance during the season, I played very well I always try to do my best and work hard.
“Sometimes to stay on the bench is difficult but I respect the decision of the manager.
“I don’t have anything more to say about my club because now I want to have focus here on the national team and the World Cup.”
Willian has a contract until at Stamford Bridge until 2020 and will turn 30 in August.
