Chelsea are interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri this summer, but no deal has been made so far with Chelsea yet to fully settle its managerial battle.
However, it appears Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham are ready to continue their summer spree with an ambitious swoop for Seri.
According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the Hammers have made a concrete offer for the 26-year-old.
Seri has a £35m buyout clause in his contract, and TuttoMercatoWeb claim the east London outfit are the closest team to signing Seri as things stand.
A deal for the Ligue 1 talent would certainly be a real coup for West Ham, who bought France Under-23s skipper and centre-half Issa Diop for a club-record £22m from Toulouse yesterday.
