According to a report on Evening Standard, senior Chelsea players are growing increasingly concerned that the club have yet to make any summer signings.
Players and fans don’t know who will be the manager of the club next season while the role of technical director is yet to be filled since Michael Emenalo left the role last November.
While rivals such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have already added to their squad this summer, Chelsea are yet to make any additions to the squad.
Last summer followed a similar pattern and Chelsea, who were reigning champions, finished the season a disappointing fifth.
It seems the board haven’t learnt from the mistakes of last summer.
A club source told Evening Standard that a repeat of 12 months ago will not only damage Chelsea’s hopes of competing for the title, but also in the club’s bid to keep Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois.
