With Maurizio Sarri’s agent said to be in London to finalise the deal between both parties, it’s now only a matter of time for Sarri to join Chelsea officially as manager. This means Conte will be vacating his role as gaffer. As we countdown to his official announcement, we also take a look at what immediate objectives the Italian will be handed.

Chelsea’s 5th place finish in the league is one of the worse in the Roman Abramovich era. I am certain that Sarri would first of all be looking to put an end to that, but of course, it won’t be automatic; achieving that would require a stern and smooth transfer policy.

Reports have had it there’ll be a lot of activities at the club – older players who have added little or nothing will be replaced with younger and fresher ones. Already, he has set his sights on a number of possible acquisitions, and players that will be sold as well, although I personally don’t see the need for a clear out.

With the right team (his kind of team), Sarri will be expected to conquer Europe’s second tier division, and get Chelsea back in the top four position where it belongs.

They’re not easy tasks perhaps, but ones he can definitely deliver on. Work is all about results and delivery; I’m sure Conte’s experience would help provide him with some good motivation.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
